Everbowl: a Bowl of Prevention
Jeff Fenster knows the deep connection between the food we put in our bodies and its power to fuel and heal us. That’s why he founded Everbowl, a quick-service restaurant that provides a variety of superfoods, in hopes of helping as many people as possible eat better.
“I’m afraid of disease. I think a lot of it can be prevented, and I believe it’s easier to prevent than to cure,” says Jeff, whose father is a physician. “Mother Earth is our pharmacy for our bodies. I think we can prevent illness by living an ‘unevolved’ lifestyle.”
Jeff trademarked the word “unevolved” and defines it as “to move and eat the way we were meant to.” He says we’ve gone away from just eating what nature has to provide. He has identified the four main reasons people are compelled to eat less healthy: it costs too much to eat healthily, it's not filling, it doesn’t taste great, or it's not available.
Everbowl was launched to solve those issues, first opening in Poway, CA, in October 2016. The menu features exotic and familiar fruits, organic oats, nut butter and milk, seeds, and other healthy foods like bee pollen and whey protein. Each bowl starts with a superfood base that is pureed to a thick smoothing and then topped with an unlimited number of fruits and toppings. There is a menu of set bowls or customers can make their own recipes.
Everbowl currently has 38 stores with 5 more coming in the near future.
